We want our marketplace to look clean and consistent, so therefore we’ve created this section where we share our guidelines to give our customers the best possible customer journey possible.

The guidelines you have to follow when you’re making your course public.

Students first

We want to educate people and help them to learn new skills. That means that it’s all about the quality of the content and that you have to put student learning in the first place.

We require that the course content is up-to-date and matches the course description.

Each course should contain:

  • Clear topics and lessons
  • Videos or other lecture types
  • Resources
  • Quizzes and / or assignments

Content requirements

A course must comply to these minimum requirements:

  • At least 4 separate lectures
  • At least 15 minutes video content
  • Featured image (approx. 1150 x 766px)
  • Video quality at least 720p or 1080p
  • Audio is synced with the video and comes out of both channels
  • Audio quality must be of a good quality
  • A complete and informative course landing page
    • A descriptive course title that included relevant keywords
    • A course description of at least 175 words
    • Benefits of the course described
    • Requirements / instructions described
    • Targeted Audience described
    • Materials (list of assets) included described
  • A complete instructor bio with profile picture

We want the students to learn within an environment that is safe and secure. Therefore we have the following guidelines:

  • If you offer multiple courses on the marketplace, duplicated content should be minimal.
  • It is allowed to include your website, contact information or social media profiles or small watermark on the video. It should not be distracting to the student.
  • It is not allowed to post personal information about students.
  • It is not allowed to include affiliate links.
  • It is not allowed to include coupon codes or links to promotions inside the course.
  • External links are to paid content are only allowed if they provide access to a tool or product that is part of the required resources.

When an instructor is clearly going against the spirit of Xquissive policies or if we see a negative impact on the student experience (for example high unsubscribe rates or refund rates) it will be considered a violation of our policies.

Course review

To maintain a high level of quality, each course that is published to the academy is reviewed by our team. When a course is rejected due to quality issues, you will be notified and have the chance to make changes until the course passes the review.

Course Price Guidelines

Unlike some other marketplaces, we have a flat pricing structure and we don’t work with huge discounts. We think that you as an instructor are capable to decide the value of your course. We encourage you to do market research and compare your course to other courses on the market.

If you are offering a tiered course, for example a beginners course, an advanced course and an expert course, you could build up the pricing gradually. For example: a beginners course could be between $29 to $49, an advanced course could be $39 to $59 and an expert course could be from $49 to $249 depending on how much value it adds. If the experience your course delivers is good you can generate up to $357 in this example if a student decides all three courses.

Another good practice to discover the perfect price for your course is to gradually raise the price. If you start with a low price and the quality is good, chances are high that the review will get good reviews. If you keep developing the course you can raise the price of it until you’ve found the sweet spot.
