Great news for those who love to create traditional looking art on their computer. Escape Motions announced in their blog that Rebelle 6 will be coming soon after working on it for the past year.

Rebelle is an award-winning painting software boasting realistic effects of oil, acrylic, watercolor and other wet and dry media. Through its advanced features such as pigment-mixing, oil-thickness, watercolor-diffusion and NanoPixel technology, users can experience a truly authentic painting process, skillfully replicating the natural effects of art media on canvas.

The Escape Motions Team is excited about the new version: “The new version will feature essential tools the digital artists have been missing to become 100% exclusive with Rebelle software implemented in an innovative way”.

What tools are to be expected with Rebelle 6?

The tools that will be added are Liquify and Warp tools with fractal image resizing, new filters and more.

Adjustment tools

The liquify tool lets you push, pull, twirl, pinch, or expand any area of an image. An unique feature is that it uses Escape Motions fractal image processing, which is also used in the NanoPixel image resizing which is available in the Pro version. This technique promises a huge step forward in image quality compared to other tools on the market.

The warp tool is a new transformation tool for modifying objects in Rebelle 6. Utilizing transformation tools to modify the shape or proportions of artwork elements is an effective and efficient way to improve or correct compositions, without the need to recreate from scratch. The warp tool also uses the earlier mentioned fractal image processing to create a better output without unwanted pixelation.

Typically, enlarging or resizing an image can detrimentally affect its quality. As it is increased in size, the sharpness of the details often diminishes, resulting in a blurry appearance. This is where fractal image processing comes in, providing you with much better quality. Fractal image processing is “a resizing algorithm based on machine learning. This allows you to change the size of the object with the maximum quality achievable with today’s technology“.

Image Filters

Rebelle 6 will feature new filters and filter masks. By adding these filters Espcape Motions hope to provide you with a better user experience, because you don’t have to switch to third party applications anymore.
The filters that will come to Rebelle 6 are Gaussian Blur, Lens Blur and Sharpen.

Color Range

Color filters such as Hue/Saturation/Lightness and Colorize will include the option of selecting a specific range of hues. If this range is chosen, the filter will be applied accordingly. With this functionality you will be able to adjust colors in your artwork in a controllable way.

Upgrade discount

All Rebelle 5 owners are eligible for a 50% discount on their upgrade to Rebelle 6. Any customers who purchased Rebelle 5 between November 1st, 2022 and the launch of Rebelle 6 will receive a free upgrade to the same edition of Rebelle 6.

When will Rebelle 6 be released?

According to Escape Motions more information regarding the pricing, differences between the editions and release date will be announced soon.
