Featured Artist, Brrontte
Meet artist Brrontte, from Camden, New Jersey who began painting at the age of 16. Since then, it’s been 4 years and this young artist is taking the creative world by storm. Now excelling in acrylic on canvas as well as apparel, Brrontte was first introduced to painting at her high school during Sophomore year. At the time she didn’t heavily pursue her talents but has picked it up more and more over the years.
This self-taught artist’s inspirations are surrealists Frida Kahlo and Salvador Dali. She often finds herself painting animals, relating her art back to her adventurous childhood where she spent most of her time in the woods or watching animal documentaries.
I would take home canvases from my art teacher to further develop my craft.
Although feeling like she isn’t renowned quite yet, she makes sure to keep pushing the phrase, “if you don’t make time for wellness, you make time for illness”. Brrontte’s favourite piece is a wall mural she created during her final year of high school.
Stretching about 14 feet wide and 7 feet tall, the mural is undoubtedly Brrontte’s proudest creative project yet. Before even graduating high school, Brrontte took the initiative to transform a bland wall into a piece of art.
